If it was discovered * had an affair, would it hurt him any? |
|
Of course the media will be nowhere near as harsh to him as to Clinton, and the Freepers would just say since Clinton did it, it's OK. Would he turn off any fundies? Not their leaders of course, but maybe some fundies would see through his phony-Christian facade.
However, this brings up an issue, if it doesn't hurt him any, it could benefit him, as it would take attention off the economy, no WMDs, Iraq quagmire, ect. ect. Think this story might come up as a possibility?

1. After Clinton's affair, his approval rating went *UP* |
|
I don't think it would help us, it'd just be distracting from the real issues.

19. Yeah - but us Liberals don't care about that b.s. - the Pubs do.... |
|
Look at what happened to Newt Gingrich, Livingston and those Pubs who got caught cheating during the Clinton impeachment. Didn't they get voted out the next time around.

20. That's because of a good economy |
|
And Clinton didn't have to worry about getting fundie votes because fundies arn't Democrats.

I have a hard time picturing Bush as a "swinger" like that. I mean c'mon let's be honest all things considered it's easy for me to picture Clinton being a party boy, but Bush...I dunno go ahead try it for a moment picture Bush impersonating John Travolta doing his "Stayin Alive" intro where he snags a slice of pizza while groovin it.

A video of Bush drinking with Mohammed Atta at a Boston bar on the evening of September 10, 2001 could come out and Bush's approval ratings would more than likely increase.
People just don't seem to care.....at all.

9. It would help people who supported him find an acceptable |
|
reason to not vote for him. A lot of his base is scared of unemployemnt and terrified about Iraq. They do not consider his presidency a success.
They want him to lose and just need some acceptable "moral" reasons to avoid voting for him again.

What's an affair when you are an immoral cretin that gleefully orders the execution of tens of thousands then struts around on an aircraft carrier with a sock stuffed down your flight suit?
Sex is only bad (according to Republicans) when Democrats are doing it. Republicans think they are operating on a higher moral plane than the rest of us, so simple acts of pleasure are just perks, not impeachable offenses.

the fundies and neocons are delusional.
NOTHING, not even gang raping a busload of little boys at knife point would faze L'il George's popularity with his base.
A couple of weeks of media spin would leave the sheeple all confused and then the story would go away.

may not be his downfall, but just another misrepresented image.

25. Word has it that he already did....after his conversion!! |

Washington is rampant with the rumor that Bush had an illicit affair with the Treasurer of the United States during his daddy's administration. Her name is Villapiano (sp?). It is said in the halls of Treasury that they were an item and he kept the IRS dogs off of her but when they broke up he told them to go after her and thats exactly what they did. Now, this is more than a regular rumor but you can't get anyone at Treasury to talk about it because most of them are lifelong bureaucrats and won't risk their jobs. Someday someone is going to talk. I brought it up to author Al Martin on my show and he already knew all about it.
