Of course the media will be nowhere near as harsh to him as to Clinton, and the Freepers would just say since Clinton did it, it's OK. Would he turn off any fundies? Not their leaders of course, but maybe some fundies would see through his phony-Christian facade.

However, this brings up an issue, if it doesn't hurt him any, it could benefit him, as it would take attention off the economy, no WMDs, Iraq quagmire, ect. ect. Think this story might come up as a possibility?

Washington is rampant with the rumor that Bush had an illicit affair with the Treasurer of the United States during his daddy's administration. Her name is Villapiano (sp?). It is said in the halls of Treasury that they were an item and he kept the IRS dogs off of her but when they broke up he told them to go after her and thats exactly what they did. Now, this is more than a regular rumor but you can't get anyone at Treasury to talk about it because most of them are lifelong bureaucrats and won't risk their jobs. Someday someone is going to talk.
