Christine Gregoire; the DINO's choice for WA governor!
Or should it be Christine Gregoire...Gary Locke II!

It looks like I am about to be disappointed again this election year. Howard Dean loses ground to John Kerry and now my choice for Washington state governor Phil Talmadge is behind lame duck DINO Governor Locke's choice to become governor. I cannot trust Gregoire. To me Talmadge is the best man to bring the Democratic Party back to it's progressive roots here in Washington. He attacked Locke for giving Boeing that sweetheart deal to build the 7E7 here as well as refusing to give teachers a much needed pay raise. I know for a fact that the same corporations and money people who have supported Locke in the past are lining up to fill Gregoire's pockets. Talmadge also alleges that Gregoire has supported every corporate loophole that the State Legislature has passed at the Governor's suggestion. Both Locke and Gregoire oppose gay marriages.

No. I really think Washington state needs a governor who is not going to be another DINO. It is going to hurt the Washington State Democratic Party in the long run. Locke has been a great disappointment and the reason you have people like Tim Eyman manipulating taxpayer's anger.

Do the right thing Democrats in Washington state, support Phil Talmadge! You don't believe me then read the Stranger article and look at Talmadge's website!

2. Gregoire has voiced support for Gale Norton on several occassions
when asked about state employees being able to strike, she has repeatedly said that they do not have the right to strike, yet she will not answer whether or not they should be given that right. Still, WFSE (WA Fed of State Employees) has endorsed her!

She waited to announce until governor Dolittle announced that he is not going to run.

Phil has been out there carrying the banner for the Dems, debating that little asswipe Tim Eyeman, etc. and as soon as Gregoire announces, his support starts to dry up!

Her campaign staff is Locke's team.

Phil Talmadge for Governor!

3. I met Phil Talmadge a few weeks ago

He impressed the Heck outta me on his positions. But I don't know if Washington State would elect him--there are 'just enough' centrists in the state who see him as an uber-liberal throwback to, well, I guess we've never really elected an ultra liberal governor here.

Cripes, Dixy Lee Ray was a Democrat (no, really...), Booth Gardner had conservative tendencies, and Dan Evans--where would you even put him on the spectrum???

Gregoire pobably won't get my vote in the primary (I've met her a coupla times, too) but any Dem is a sight better than whatever the Repubs throw at us in November (Clyde Ballard, maybe? :) )

It Oughta be an interesting primary....

5. Republicans are going with Dino Rossi
>Gregoire pobably won't get my vote in the primary (I've met her a coupla times, too) but any Dem is a sight better than whatever the Repubs throw at us in November (Clyde Ballard, maybe? :) )<

We'll enjoy the conversational stylings of one Dino Rossi, a Republican that makes Ronald Reagan look like the soul of compassion.

Rossi believes that a family of 4 in Western Washington making $40,000 per year and on the state's Basic Health insurance are "gaming the system". (By the way, those on Basic Health do pay a premium, and their deductible is quite high besides. It's catastrophic health insurance.) Yes, it's true, I heard it myself at an Association of Washington Cities dinner last year. It was all I could do not to scream right back, "How would you support your family on $32,000 per year take home, jerk?"

I can hardly wait till Rossi makes more campaign appearances. I'm sure that others on a wider scale would be interested in his comments at the dinner I attended .
