"The price of gas, the price of everything

As a self-employed businessman, I keep hearing and seeing the gas prices going up constantly. I would really like to hear something other than the price of a gallon of gas. For instance, why is it that you never hear anyone complain about the cost of milk -- by the way, they say it is going to go up -- or the price of meat in the grocery stores.

You know, there are times in my business, which is painting, that I look at the prices of paint materials, but I don't complain. I just have to bite the bullet and deal with it. Maybe people ought to wake up and realize that a lot of factors go into producing gasoline...."

<more at link>

He has to "Bite the bullet" because his paint supplies and gasoline are going up? Didn't anyone tell him when he started his business that when YOUR costs go up, you pass those increases on to the customer?

Is he dim enough to not realize that the price of fuel is why his paint and groceries are going up? Does he expect MAB and Meijer to "bite the bullet" and eat the increased transportation expenses like he does?

Bet he listens to Rush and is going to vote for the Chimp again because he feels "safe" from Terra-ists....

Baaaa! Baaaaa!

1. Well, actually
gas prices have only returned to their levels of 30 years ago, adjusted for inflation. In Europe I suppose the price of gas is down, since the Euro buys more dollars. Given all this, I suppose he's right that too much time is wasting discussing the price of gas. Does anyone know what it would be if they included the cost of our "defense" establishment ?

2. "Adjusted for Inflation" is a Weasel Word.

Just like crowing about the Economy turning around because the GDP or Wall Street is on the upgrade. It's Bee-Ess that has little effect down here in the trenches.

Wish my paycheck was "adjusted for inflation".

Thanks for playing.
