3. Pacifica has a pretty substantial network. |
|
Formidable enough to have been targeted for destrucion in the months before the 2000 election. They have been fighting this war for 60 years now.
That said, I voted wrong. Air America has some big shoes to fill if it wants to gain the respect and admiration that the Pacifica network enjoys from it's listeners.

5. Both are very much needed, but I voted Pacifica |
|
Air America has the potential to reach a far larger audience than Pacifica does, but in terms of substance and views/books/music/etc. you'll never see in most market-driven media, Pacifica is an invaluable, irreplaceable resource. And they've been around since 1949, through McCarthy, Vietnam, Reagan, etc., and lived to tell the stories.

6. Agreed. Each has its place. |
|
And hopefully each can have its niche. But much as I like what I've initially heard of Air America, it has a long way to go.

DemocracyNow, Free Speech radio news, Radioactive etc. has been a part of my life for so long now...they're like family.
I do like Air America though, especially Randi.

They're only available over the internet, but they're still very good.

10. I vote for Air America AND Pacifica... |
|
...and AA's only been on for a week -- not a fair comparison.
And then there's overlap: AA weekend host Laura Flanders is a longtime Pacifica network alumnus.

13. I think alot of people are missing the point of Air America |
|
This is and apples and oranges poll.
You need to include some standard for this poll to make any sense: Which do you like listening to more? Which do you think is more important for disseminating information? Which do you think is more important for our cause. etc
This current poll doesnt have any meaning.
