OPEN LETTER TO THE 9/11 COMMISSION

To whom it may concern on the 9/11 Commission,

I am writing to you not as a family member of someone who was lost on that terrible day in September of 2001, but as a member of a much larger family…. The American voting populace.

My family and I are afraid. We are afraid of more terrorism. We are afraid of the erosion of our civil rights in the name of fighting terrorism. We are afraid that the reputation for compassion and fairness earned by this nation in conflicts like World War Two is lost. We are afraid that Osama Bin Laden will never be brought to justice, as there is more and more unnecessary bloodshed in Iraq and other "targeted" places around the world.

While these things are frightening, our biggest fear is that the Bush Administration will not allow an HONEST, comprehensive report from this Commission to be issued before the November election. My family and I do not trust Bush and those in his inner circle to release the truth. What can you do to lay our fears to rest?
