Question: any 9/11 expose books in print? |
|
I have a favorites folder full of excellent web resources about 9/11 the open questions that no one is willing to answer, all the things that deserve to know the truth about.
But I was wondering, has anyone written about any of this? I mean written an entire book devoted to these questions and what really happened on 9/11?
I don't mean small sections - like I know Michael Moore talks about the Saudi family being flown out of the country on that day, but I was really looking for complete books.
I really think there needs to start being books out there that ask questions. I would prefer it of the books didn't try to form conclusions. I just wish they would say "look, this is what we factually know, you form your own conclusions."
Anyway, I was just wondering..

1. D.R. Griffin, The New Pearl Harbor. |
|
Northampton, MA: Olive Branch Press, 2004.
I haven't read it yet. It looks like it may be a Dubya-conspiracy book, but I'll see.

I recommend:
The War on Freedom: How and Why America was Attacked, September 11, 2001 by Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed (398 pages)
Ahmed is the British author of many reports on human rights and his work on the conflict in Afghanistan has been recommended as a resource by Harvard University. This book is very detailed with lots of footnotes and an index:
from the introduction:
"The study begins by examining the history of U.S. policy in Afghanistan from the 1980s to the year 2001. It highlights evidence that a war on Afghanistan had been planned for several years prior to the terrible tragedy that occurred on 11th September on U.S. soil. It attempts to explore the interests from which these U.S. military plans may have sprung, principally those related to the strategic and economic domination of Central Asia and the Caspian. The study further investigates the multiple warnings of the 11th September attacks received by the U.S. intelligence community, and in that context considers in detail the U.S. response to those attacks. It also investigates the history of relations between the U.S. and Osama bin Laden, and their possible impact on the events of the 11th September."
The book does outline a variety of conclusions but you won't find a better resource in a single book for the broad and narrow questions - "he looks at the right subjects" (Professor Peter Dale Scott, UofC, Berkeley). Amazingly, this book was published in June 2002! (Some of his key questions are only now flitting around the margins of the mainstream press).

4. The New Pearl Harbor by David Ray Griffin (mentioned above) |

Just finished reading it and handed it to my husband who is devouring it in every free moment.
This is a very good summary (with 40 pages of notes documenting everything). It definitely points to some level of complicity (what DUers would call MIHOP or LIHOP). Covers evidence before, during and after the actual attacks.
Possibly not the book for those who have been following every single detail from the beginning, but I thought it was very useful in pulling all the threads together in one place. The effect is devastating. It's written very seriously and reasonably -- does not have a tinfoil hat feeling to it.
Highly recommended. A good book to give to a friend who thinks you're nuts for thinking the unthinkable.
I think this book meets your criterion of not coming to conclusions. What he is doing is laying out all the evidence that the official explanation (or official non-explanation) simply does not hold up. He explicitly states that he is trying to make the case that it NEEDS TO BE SERIOUSLY INVESTIGATED and has not been. But he does not pull any punches with the evidence. It's a very strong case.
