1. Once his approval numbers start to go, they will fall off a cliff.
And he won't be able to put it back.

2. It's bad enough for Bush now but if he goes to the 30's
then all the money in the world won't be able to save him from a landslide loss. Poor Dumbya.

3. 43% is incredibly high considering everything, absolutely everything,
has/is going to hell in a hand-basket: disasters are manifold. Are there really that many apathetic, brain-dead, or brain-washed people out there? Amazing!

4. I hope you're right, but . . .
some people will never be convinced. My husband's parents are absolutely incapable of thinking anything bad about Bush and anything good about Clinton--sort of that beauty is in the eye of the beholder maxim. T4 (to tell the truth), I'm that way about the Dems.

What's available for us are the independents--all of them--and the moderate republicans. But that base--well, we just don't know how large it is, and I actually think we're scratching up against it now. Maybe, if the news from Iraq continues to be so god-awful, we might get Chimpy down into the high-30s. The other thing we can do is take strength from his base, demoralize them, depress their turn-out, but there are some people who will always look at that pig and see a silk purse.

5. If he dips into the 30's, he will tip into the Jack Daniels and it will
also be fun watching his "faithful" trying to get out the backdoor of the White House. He will have to go out more in actual public settings and he will eventually have a hissy fit in public.

9. Electoral Landslide?
Indeed!

I was playing with one of those interactive electoral college maps this weekend and I think it is within the realm of possibility that Kerry could win with 360+ electoral votes.

If Bush descends into the high 30s in approval ratings, I think it will put states like Arkansas, Louisiana, maybe Indiana into play.

My hunch has been for sometime now that Bush polls high. I just hear from too many good Republicans (I mean everyday, fiscally responsible, non-extremist types) that they are just not going to vote for Bush this time. That doesn't mean necessarily that they are going to vote for Kerry ... but they probably will just skip the presidential ballot line.

This Iraq mess and the huge deficits have really shaken up some of these old time Goldwater-style conservatives. I heard on a talk radio program this morning known conservative callers saying that they just couldn't believe anything that came out of Bush's mouth anymore.

10. As long as they continue to trend down it will knock..
* off of his game. He will have to reconsider whether his attacks on Kerry are doing more harm than good. Plan B of course would be to accelerate the lie machine.

15. I'm assuming that those
previous WH residents who's ratings fell into the 30's were not elected. However, that is in the past. I don't believe we've ever had someone who was propped up like the media whores prop up chimpy. I don't know if we've had an election like '00. Chimpy has got a powerful konservative apparatus behind him.
Please don't break out the bubbly until he leaves the WH for sure, either defeated in the election or frog-walked out in shackles.

18. Please don't hold your breath for anything lower than 35%
short of him starting to eat toddlers alive on the White House lawn.

Seriously I say that because there is a certain percentage of people that, short of what I described above, would support him all the way to the depths of hell.

Which is where I feel we are now.

21. Agreed. I think 35% is the absolute bottom
The fundies and the right wing wackos make up about 30%. They'll stick to the bitter end. He'll also retain a few died in the wool Repugs, even though they realize he's a piece of shit. So, 35% is his rock bottom baseline.

If he hits that though, he's in deep doo-doo.

Bush 1 got 37% of the vote in 92. I would say Chimpo will be lucky if he does that.

23. Landslides can work both ways: The Bush supporters once steadfast
will leave in droves once they get the real picture of them being HAD.

The drip drip drip thing is happening, but soon it can lead to a torrent. The BushCo is doing all it can to stifle that surge. But too little too late, the Lies and deception are catching up to the Master Pubs. They have gone over the top with the greed thing.

And, Bush has shown more than ample signs of being a self serving, self centered person focused on being re Selected.

The Photo Op boy king is doomed to historys waste bin as a fraud.
