Australian PM: no more troops to Iraq
PM: no more troops to Iraq

April 07, 2004
AUSTRALIA was unlikely to send more troops to Iraq despite fresh outbreaks of violence, Prime Minister John Howard said yesterday.

The US is considering sending rapid-response forces to Iraq to bolster troops after a surge in fighting between US forces and Shi'ite Muslim groups at the weekend.

But Mr Howard said in Auckland: "We don't have any plans to provide more. We have about 850 troops there and personnel there ... they'll stay there until the job is done."

2. If I recall, Rupert Murdoch said that the "ties" between....
the U.S.A and Australia were the strongest ever.

Hmm?

4. we never had enough to make
one iota of difference - it was symbolic and he's still in there with Bush so I don't see anything has changed much.

7. Even ones you haven't spoken to think that!
Hi Mr Slayer.

I submit myself to be yet another Aussie you've spoken to that thinks that.

And everyone I know thinks that too, and I live in a rural area known for, shall we say, rather right wing views.
