Calling Senator/Representatives. |
|
Okay, you guys are going to think I'm stupid, but here goes.
I see the post with the switchboard number that will transfer you to any Senate or Rep toll-free.
What's the process? I'm undoubtedly nervous, and I'm not sure why.
Not sure what exactly I'll be doing. :p
Help me? :p

1. Just call them and tell them your name and tell them |
|
you have a comment. Their phones are usually answered by aides and staff. Remember, they work for YOU.

The operator will be a customer service representative, more or less. The person who picks up the transferred call will be as well, and will likely say, "I will let the Senator know how you feel."
Thank you.
Goodbye.
MAKE THAT CALL AND REPORT BACK IMMEDIATELY!

1) Dial 1-800-839-5276, and say, "Hello, can I speak to the office of Senator/Congressperson ____?"
(call transferred)
2) Say, "Hello, can I speak to someone about (the issue)?"
(call transferred)
3) Say, "Hello, I'd like to leave a message for Senator/Congressman ___ to please vote (for/against) (the issue)."
