There's an old saying about the cure being worse than the illness. That's the thought that struck me today regarding the brutal attack on the Mosque.

I'm not in Iraq so I have no earthly idea how rank and file Iraqis feel right now, but it doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility that what happened today pissed off a lot of people who were otherwise "okay" with our presence there. I qualify that by beleiving that A-Not every Iraqi hates us and B-Not every Iraqi loves us, as BushCo. would have the 'Merican people believe.

I guess my point is brutality begats brutality. Chimpy's army will force more regular Iraqi citizens into hating us (and frankly I don't blame them) and their hatred will eventually evolve into more and more action. In fact it could be argued that sequence of events has been in place for awhile and recent events have only accelerated the process.

2. Do you think the Iraqi's could care less about democracy and more about
putting food on their tables? Why do we assume that because a few Iraqi business men wanted to wrestle control of Iraq from Saddam that the people are yearning for our style of government?

4. Of course they think that,. Flowers, candy and all....
The reality is , this is a repeat of the 1920 British occupation on so many levels. I can't see much difference in the potential outcome either.
