1. I saw that Sunday

I couldn't tell if it was meant to be satirical. In the past the show has seemed somewhat supportive of the Bush agenda.

2. I took it as a sarcastic dig by the writer.

He didn't have to put that in there but he did. IMO, having a low-life ganster backing the idiot president using idiotic words is not a good thing.
