How many of you remember Al Haig's press conference after Reagan was shot when he said "We are in control... here, in the White House" while sweat dripping from his forehead.

Here is another Al Haig moment:

1. I had reason to think of that the other day when...

...I wrote that Bush and Blair should be tried in the Hague for invading Iraq.

I looked at the sentence for a moment. Something was wrong. Then: of course. I'd written "in the Haig." ;-)

Needless to say you're absolutely right: the false bravado, the certainty of the totally uncertain, the pride that goeth before the fall... Like Al Haig, this bunch of comedians hasn't got a clue.

3. Al Haig had many clues

We would probably have faced an attempted coup in 1972 were it not for Al Haig. BTW ... he would have never have gone along with Bush on this. That is because he is capable of strategic thought and isn't a total shit like these assclowns.

my first thought was "Oh 'poop', it's really out of control if Rummy is denying it...."

my second thought -- how long is it going to take before bush* inc. flip-flops on the June 30 deadline? They've just flip-flopped on enying that we need more troops in Iraq

my third thought -- Easter, Passover, Islamic Holiday combined with increased fighting in Iraq, and Rice's 9-11 testimony ... wonder if we will be on at least an Orange Alert for a diversion?
