in such a way that they can say, "It's all about politics". The whole purpose of Condi's appearance is to discredit the Commission as "partisan" - not to get any facts or information out about what happened on 9/11.

The best hope for the Repubs is that Roemer or Gorelick will come across as "partisan" Democrats and make Condi Rice look like an "Ollie North" character before the bullying Commission. This is what the White House hopes to accomplish from her appearance. Little new information is expected to come from her testimony.

The spin for the past two weeks have been to deflect on Clinton wherever possible.
