Dr. Rice's Voice Sounds Stressed. VERY Stressed... Why Is She So Nervous?
Edited on Thu Apr-08-04 08:25 AM by arwalden
She's an accomplished public speaker and should be able to speak confidently about a subject that she's very familiar with... correct?

Why does she sound so hesitant and nervous in the READING of her prepared opening statement? --- She reminds me of a nervous child standing in front of the class giving an oral book report on a book that she didn't even read. She appears to be reading something that was written FOR her... not BY her.

That vocal quality---nervous, jittery, fluttering--can also be interpreted as a sign that she's lying or trying to hide something.

Am I making too much out of this? It does seem a bit out of character for her to be so nervous.

1. she's wondering how she's going to keep her lies straight
they're all out there just waiting to bite her on the ass if the commission is allowed to ask about them, that is.

so far she's been jawing for almost half an hour...:boring:

2. she looked on the brink of tears in her 60 Minutes interview
She's definitely hiding something. Too bad she has no original thoughts of her own.

4. You're not making too much out of it
She's lying, her entire body language screams it.

She wouldn't last 2 seconds in front of Judge Judy. :silly:

5. Two reasons for nervousness
First, most of the script was prepared for her by someone else (as noted correctly above)

Second, she is trying to control her temper. My guess is that this lady can be very combative and confrontational and she's trying to keep it in check before the commission.

Ya think?

7. Because she's lying...
Edited on Thu Apr-08-04 08:36 AM by Tandalayo_Scheisskop
Through the rather estimable gap in her teeth. For starters: "They tried to decapitate the government". Uhhh...really?

She's on the thin edge of a nervous breakdown.Prolly has a hell of a dose of beta blockers in her and a few Paxil to boot.

On edit: She's clipping words. Damn, there is some shit going on inside that girl. None of it pretty.

"Uhh<word, phrase> Uhh<redux>". Remembering coached word and phrase pickups. You can actually hear when she's really lying. Her tone and timbre changes. Fascinating. She kind of starts to strangle a bit.

This is undoubtedly a women who is more used to getting in people's faces with the truth as she understands it, not lying. How'd she get a job with the sociopaths? She's stressed bigtime. Really bigtime.

8. actually
she is NOT an accomplished public speaker. She always sounds nervous. But I'm sure today, she's more nervous than usual - and with good reason. She's lying in front of millions of people.

10. She's ALWAYS been like that when put on the spot
When McKinney's Bush Knew flap burst 2 years ago, Condi almost crapped her pants in every interview and press conference. She's the weak link in the cabal of liars, it's no wonder they've resisted her deposition.

I've never heard her speak any other way.
She is always "nervous" because she is constantly telling lies. I think her appearance will be another opportunity to white-wash this administration. She is so "close" to this pResident she will lie and lie. This will not change.

11. It's not easy to read a prepared speech that someone else wrote.
You can see now that she has better poise in just straight Q & A.

14. Spinning now
Nailed for saying she couldn't have imagined planes being used as weapons...

"to the best of my knowledge, this was never briefed to us... I don't remember any strategic warnings"

That doesn't mean it was unimaginable or unheard of. It was done and attempted many times before 9/11. If you're National security adviser you should KNOW these things.

16. Talking about bush's book quote...was she there?
She's testifying to 'heresay.' She was not in the room with Woodward and the small man when he was quoting for the book.

Now she's trying to say that bush is not into 'killing' like killing in general.

18. yup... Rice has the smell of Liddy about her...
I'm still betting that she's gonna be tossed to the wolves after this in the hope that nobody will pick on her because she's a minority. Sorry if that sounds nasty... but bushco picked her so they could play a race card later as a get out of jail free card, and I think they will try it.

21. She doesn't think she is a minority

I don't recall her getting excited about her roots. To me she thinks of herself as a majority.

She thinks she is entitled to do and say what ever she wants to. How many minority women have ever been thisclose to a President in his work setting and in private settings.

She feels extremely comfortable with the Bush family, loves them. Most minorities would puke at being in their presence constantly.

She was totally fascinated with Russia. I think she wanted to be White and now she is White.

24. that may very well be true...
... but I'm of the belief that * and his handlers specifically picked her because of her skin color. She may think she's not a minority, but I bet * thinks she is, and he'll use his mother's corpse cover if he could take it, so why not a minority? bushco has no soul and no conscience, and she's a part of that regardless of her color.

Not just the Russian fascination, it is the way that she LOVES all things White, especially Bush.

Did you hear her relative Connie Rice speak on AA? She was excellent!
