If I told my Skipper that my shop wasn't meeting mission because I had only been onboard 233 days, I would have been courtmartialed. Then again, I was in the Navy and was expected to be held accountable for my actions, and accept the responsibilities given to me. Maybe, just maybe that will occur today.

Every time I went to work somewhere, I always told the tool room supervisor or whoever I answered to, "It'll probably take me 7 or 8 months to settle in here, ya know, learn how to turn on the machines, find the tool crib and, of course, the head".

everytime the claim that they were new to the job. If I had just gotten a job, I could not take a month-long vacation six months into the deal, and expect to keep it, so why should they? Especially, if they were getting all those reports from other countries.
