Clinton lied about his sex life |
|
bush's staff is lying about the deaths of thousands. Christian conservatives will look you in the eye and tell you Clinton is much less moral, much less a man of integrity; because today's christian conservatives have no morals of their own, have no integrity, have no moral compass, have no compassion, love no one, are totally ignorant and have absolutely no concern for the welfare of their fellow man or their country. I choose not to associate myself with those in this country today who call themselves "Christians." WWJD? He'd kick some serious right wing ass. Thanks for the opportunity to rant.

7. exactly...as a Christian myself, it galls me the bad name we have gotten |
|
from bigots and greedy warmongers, who say not one word condemning corporate rape and pillage, but who judge others about personal issues (as long as they are not rightwingers, anyway; they can do no wrong.)
Faith, family and the flag belong to me, too!!!!

As an outsider I can tell you the only voice being heard outside your churches are the voices of hate and oppression. Anyone that does not make the effort themself to investigate what the more liberal branches of Christianity are up to is left with a false impression.

3. As a nation, our country is very young. |
|
You look at England and France, countries which would have fluffed off the Monica Lewinsky situation, because they are mature enough to understand what is important and what is not. Material and relevant evidence. The reality is that the Republicans pushed Clinton into a corner on an issue which should have remained private. And they did it purely for political advantage. Now we have 3000 dead Americans and millions out of jobs.
Our peace dividend from the 90s down the terlet.

4. as a culture we are funny about sex and violence. |
|
<sarcasm> Its NOT OK to have sex as a topic or act in the US. Clinton cheated on his wife and lied about it (like all husbands do when caught with their pants down) and a firestorm ensued.
Its OK to commit violence against anybody for what ever reason and call it standing up for our rights/way of life/"interests" </sarcasm>
We Americans have more of a problem with sex than we do with violence. Turn on almost any TV station of Cable station and you'll see an endless parade of violence, and not much sexual content. (counting scantily clad people as sex doesn't count... that's titillation)

9. Before AAR's bold refutations of the RW lies, I felt |
|
truly like an extraterrestrial with ideas and opinions about Bush's policies that were at odds with those of everyone around me in my wee little town.
The word "Christian" has become anathema to me, thanks to its perversion by the dominant RW fringe.

10. Clinton's sex life is |
|
NONE of the people's business..If the conservatives want to talk, why don't they talk about pops screwing his secretary in the office. Why don't they talk about their incest w/ little boys. Why don't they talk about their extramarital affairs and abortions. Yet they proclaim to be christians. I don't think so. They're the biggest bunch of hypocrites going.

12. To fundamentalists everything sinful involves sex....that's why!!!!!!! |
|
They are obsessed with their perception of sin involving sex (Clinton & Monica) and don't see the sin in lies leading to innocent deaths (Bush & Iraq)....If Christ were on earth today, they would probably reject him, because he was a forgiver.....IMO
