is it true that condi was the one that warned mayor brown not to fly 911?

i'm seeing some references to the old story of willie brown being called the day before 911 and told not to fly in any planes. some people are insinuating that it was rice who called him. is this true?

said something by now if it was, IMHO Willie Brown is a super great guy. No way would he cover anything like that up.

that he had been warned - and he wasn't sure by who - his "airport security" that he had been called and told not to fly that day. It has been speculated and reported in foreign press that Condi was the one who warned him, but no substantial proof. Condi and Brown are friends - so I wouldn't expect him to say who told him.

What was the warning for? If it wasn't Condie who warned him, who was it and why for 9-11? He's keeping pretty quiet. I don't know if you know him. Perhaps you can ask him to publicly acknowledge the circumstances and what the warning was all about so that rumor can be put to rest. Ya gotta admit it was pretty odd. Certainly sounds as though whoever warned him had pre-knowledge of the events of 9-11.

For Mayor Willie Brown, the first signs that something was amiss came late Monday when he got a call from what he described as his airport security - - a full eight hours before yesterday's string of terrorist attacks -- advising him that Americans should be cautious about their air travel.

The mayor, who was booked to fly to New York yesterday morning from San Francisco International Airport, said the call "didn't come in any alarming fashion, which is why I'm hesitant to make an alarming statement."

In fact, at the time, he didn't pay it much mind.

"It was not an abnormal call. I'm always concerned if my flight is going to be on time, and they always alert me when I ought to be careful."

Exactly where the call came from is a bit of a mystery. The mayor would say only that it came from "my security people at the airport."

7. NOT TRUE, according to Bob Kerrey on OFranken

I heard them discuss it briefly, after a caller asked about that, and cited CBS news story about Ashcroft flying private, too.

Kerrey specifically stated that the commission looked into BOTH stories and said there was NO EVIDENCE supporting either one!

they dropped it at that point........no more discussion

I found that odd, as the Aschroft story is mentioned ALL the time
