Before 9/11, the vast majority of Americans were unaware that there was anything beyond the borders of this vast and noble land.
Since then, they've become aware that there's an undiffentiated mass of people out there, all of whom should be killed as quickly as possible, or at least brought to heel through the application of a bit of firm but gentle American steel.
That's a pretty big change, wouldn't you say?
