My e-mail to Chris Matthews
Mr. Matthews,

I watched with interest the testimony today from Dr. Rice. I truly appreciate and agree with many of you comments after the testimony. Thank you for having the 9-11 widows group on the air. I think it is important to keep remembering who was hurt on 9-11 and how the families feel.

One thing I did not hear mention as of yet, but in my opinion, was the second biggest (first the August memo) revelation today, was the following statement by Dr. Rice

“The CSG was the nerve center. But I just don't believe that bringing the principals over to the White House every day and having their counterterrorism people have to come with them and be pulled away from what they were doing to disrupt was a good way to go about this. It wasn't an efficient way to go about it.”

It is beyond me when there were many people on the staff sounding warning bells, constant threats, chatter and past evidence of terrorism that since it was not efficient to have everyone talking together we did not go to battle-stations mode.

To me this statement was very disturbing and a true glimpse of how Dr. Rice viewed terrorism and her duties before 9-11.

1. Excellent email!
Why would it be necessary to "bring the principals over to the WH" day after day? If they were competent, listened to their own experts, and used time efficiently, they would have a plan of action implemented in just a few days.

All of these principals are being paid to prioritize and take action, not sit on their hands or spend their time on less important matters. But, I forget, this is the MBA administration that knows that already.

2. well for the month of August there was no need for a White House visit
since the President spent the ENTIRE MONTH on vacation, the principals would have had to go all the way to Crawford

:grr:
