What would satisy you? A hypothetical.

Our greatest hopes and fervent dreams are realised. Bush is voted soundly out of office as a result of the mess in Iraq, the economic fiasco, and the incompetence revealed by the 9.11 commission.

No criminal charges forthcoming, but the Neo-cons and Republican party in general have been severely damaged. Repubs losing seats left and right.

A cause for celebration to be sure, but would that be enough?

Could you then just "move on", and "get over it" in the interest of healing the nation's wounds?

Would you forsake Justice for normalcy?

My own answer: No. They said "Never Forget", and I never will. For the sake of the Nation the entire truth must come out. Even as chemo weakens the body, it seeks to purge the body of the cancerous cells. Remission just isn't good enough.

Thanks in advance for your own thoughts.

ON EDIT: spelling

1. we must rid the world of the cancer of neoconservatism
We must restore our democracy. This will require the destruction of its enemies. By far, its mst heinous enemies are the neocons.

2. Sorry, but we need to see Repuke/neo-con asses in court. . .
for charges like malfeascance, treason, etc.

Proper punishment for them would be federal prison terms plus confiscation of all their assets.

As the Eddie Murphy character in the movie "Trading Places" said: ". . .the way you hurt rich people is by turning them into poor people."

3. It may be a hackneyed chant, but it's true:
No justice, no peace.

Unless the criminals are held to account, America will have won only a temporary respite from them.

Too many high crimes have been swept under the rug for too long, for fear the republic couldn't survive their exposure. It's such thinking that has perpetuated America's nightmare. And it must end if the republic is to have a future.

4. I'm a simple man
And a clear-headed one.

This is all I want by the mid-term elections of 2006.

1. President Kerry.
2. Rehnquist retired from the court and replaced by a Kerry appointee.
3. The UN providing security for a fully-Iraqi government.
4. The Israli-PLO peace process back on track.
5. A deficit-reduction program in affect.

That's all. Those expecting Bush and Cheney in prison are hallucinating.

5. We screwed it up in '92.
Democrats were so elated to have control of the White House and both houses of Congress, we allowed Iran-Contra to fade away. No public condemnations of Poppy's pardons, no follow-up to the lies told, nothing. Democrats foolishly thought that by allowing it to pass, Republicans would return the favor and play nice. WE FUCKED UP, AND WE BETTER NOT DO IT AGAIN.

8. Great point
Iran-Contra was criminality at the highest levels of US Gov't, and we allowed the perpetrators to walk away unscathed. And now many of them have returned to wreak more mischief (Abrams, Poindexter, etc.).

7. I'm fine with that.
I might also need a few years' worth of late-night talk show monologue jokes at the expense of the Bush administration, though.
