These divisive, inflammatory, wedge-issue threads are becoming disturbingly prevalent. This is disruptive. I'm locking, and I'm instructing the mods to lock any more of these type of threads until further notice.

We try very hard to be sensitive to these issues, and we want people to feel comfortable discussing them. But the manner in which these topics are being brought up is doing nothing to facilitate discussion or understanding. In fact, we're beginning to wonder if that's the whole point.
