Bunch of scumbag pussies. Stern is still on Infinity in a lot of markets though, he isn't going away anytime soon. I can't wait to hear what he has to say on Monday.

6. Ban the man
Whatever happened to the good ol' days of a boycott. Pearl Jam new something along time ago about these right wing bastards. I personally have been listening to Stern since I was a kid. He has asked listeners to ban them...Clear Channel is not just radio, they are billboards, concert halls and concert promoters...I have boycotted them and Wal Mart I hope all you can too.

31. it's easier for me to not shop at walmart now since they don't accept
Mastercard credit cards anymore. They still accept MC debit cards tho. But I have been weening off of walmart for quite some time. The process is just about complete since they don't accept MC credit cards.

Clinton could give him some tips on fighting off right wing witch hunts

9. Huh?
Bill Clinton survived the biggest right wing witch hunt since HUAC. It was a legit attempt at a bloodless coup. He survived and left office with one of the highest approval ratings in history. They couldn't get Clinton and they're still bitter about it.

12. Actually, they weren't
Edited on Thu Apr-08-04 06:37 PM by RummyTheDummy
THe FCC only recently has been able to fine indivdual comments made on a radio show as opposed to classyfing one particular show for one fine. For instance they can now fine stern for saying "cock" each time he says it. The FCC has been seeking the power to hand out larger fines for several years now. Guess what? Now they have that power.

16. Because millions of working class people think he is.
Stern could be a powerful ally in the culture war if he figures out what team he is on. It seems like that is being made very clear to him right now by the RW attacks on his show.

21. Stern has helped me convince at least a dozen moderates
that Bush* is a Nazi. Taking Amy Goodman off the air wouldn't have had the same effect for one simple reason - They don't listen to Amy Goodman.

27. I listen to NPR when I'm in the car. So I know shows not hosts.
They are not fiery or remarkable like Randi Rhodes or Ed Shultz to me. They all kind of blend together for me. But I like the vanilla flavor. It works for me too.

and if he or she is young it's your job to monitor the viewing. if you have objections begin a dialog as to what you think is improper. it isn't up to the rest of us to be responsible for your childs viewing habits.

18. This whole decency scam is just to hide the serious investigation
into the Crime Family's activities surrounding 9-11 and the invasion of Iraq. It's like the gay marriage BS. Just a focal point for the foolish Fundie voting base and those who still buy into the mythology of the US being 'Leave it to Beaver' land.

24. No chance on AA....
They simply don't have the dough to pay him. He is still with Infinity which covers most of the markets. The Clear Channel stations that carried him were only in six cities.

There has been alot of speculation that Stern could jump to satellite radio though.

28. that's interesting! stern on satellite radio....
i still think though that he would do a karl malone play for the "other" team despite the salary whack. it would certainly piss off some people persecuting him and that would be right down his alley.

randi rhodes supported him today on her show. she rocks.

30. I think if Michael Powell is fining Clear Channel for Stern's show
being obscene, shouldn't he be giving equal attention to Rush Limbaugh's equally obscene show? I think we should point out his bias to him.

32. or how about o'reilly saying that the 911 widows would choose the money
over getting their husbands back alive. that is pretty obscene to me. and quite frankly, i find the FCC failing the american public in allowing the media to morph into 5 big corporate blobs. their gross negligence or sellout of their office to corporate interests is near criminal to me.
