Are we beating a dead horse?

It seems no matter what the bush administration does they gets some kind of bounce out of it. They are masters at manipulation and the media is hook and sink in tow. After looking at today's tracking poll i got a sickening pit in my stomach. For some reason Americans just like this guy and we seem up against it. I don't want to sound defeatist here but after all the news lately you would think somehow it would sink in.

I know it's only a tracking poll but what more has to happen for Americans to wake up?

1. It is frustrating, isn't it? The facts are so clear, yet people want to
hide their heads in the sand; it's easier than independent, critical thought.
Some guy wrote a LTE the other day saying he was gonna vote Chimpy because he's in favor of smaller government...!!!!!
Just goes to show how little the facts really mean.
Greed, fear and stupidity...the tripod on which the Repuke party is balanced.

6. Some base their
backing for the very reasons that those in "power" do. God has chosen them to repair the damage of the past 60 years. They look at Leave It To Beaver reruns, and long for the good old days of a working husband, housekeeper for a wife, wonderful children who never get into any real trouble, and make honest moral choices that benefit the society. Of course, this is complete nonsense, but people love to wallow in their delusions.

Also, there are those in the world who are just plain full of hate, anger and ignorance.

I wonder how these two deluded groups ever got together and decided to destroy the world as we have known it?

2. I think that this poll is out of sync with the
other polls. But remember the only poll that counts is the one on election day. Keep going forward and get bush out of the wh.

3. When people are dieting...
they're told not to weigh themselves every day, but every three days or so. It's because a person's weight normally fluctuates a pound or two every day, and too much stock shouldn't be put into those fluctuations. For me, the same goes for polls. If we're to take every friggin' poll as an indication of anything real, we'll go nuts. There are months to go. It looks like the W* edifice may be crumbling. It won't happen overnight, and of course it may not happen at all. But getting all batshit about a poll here, a poll there is pointless. There's only one poll that counts. We'll see how that one goes in November.

8. These are not good numbers for a sitting president!
We must keep at it. We have to wake up America through perseverence and exposure of the lies.

13. Thats what I came away with. Has Kerry leading in Florida for crying out
loud. Bull shit to all this Defeatist elitist rhetoric.. "oh woe is me we just can't win". Those are not good numbers for Bush!!! Poll says a tie well within the margin of error. Bush losing strength on terror issue. Other bad news for Bush. Why are so many wetting their pants?? I do agree Kerry has to shape up a bit, but all is not lost you don't want to peak to early.

9. I'm convinced the media is behind it
FOX, MSNBC and others have "likable" guys on the air who raise doubts in many viewers' minds that all the people that have come forward with incredible claims about Bush's incompetence may have partisan agendas.

Just the fact that they are on TV gives them clout - but they are believable, like salesmen are believable.

Similar to the likable defense attorney who sways the jury to acquit.

10. A lot...
... of the polls are really not worth the paper they are printed on.

There are so many factors that go into making a good poll, and many of them are ignored for the sake of cost, others for the sake of ideology.

For example, a poll that uses less than about 1100 people has such a large margin of error as to be useless.

That said, if you look at the well-designed polls over the last few months, they all show a slow but steady erosion of belief in and support of Bush* and his malfeasant war.

Keep the faith, we will win the presidency in Nov, the only question is taking back the house or senate :)

11. Remember that...
during the depths of the Depression, Roosevelt was under constant attack more vicious that anything we've seen lately and kept his job. Truman was under an equally vicious attack and managed to beat Dewey. Nixon also got reelected in the midst of Viet Nam, and Clinton survived everything the propaganda machine could throw at him.

The public is pretty much conditioned to like the President, no matter who it is or what he does, and it takes a lot to change those public perceptions. Gas lines and the perception of indecision with Iranian hostages got Carter, and the perception of not really caring about re-election were got Bush I.

It took a while, but it finally got through to people that Nixon was not really such a nice guy after all. Still didn't get through to everyone, though. And he didn't have nearly the efficient propaganda machine these guys have now.

the democrats took the Whitehouse in 2000. this was a time of peace ,employment, balanced budgets ,no 9-11,no color coded fear. do you think that the American people think they are better off today than they were 4 years ago? only those who are blinded by their loyalty to the king believe they are.
the republican newspaper which is in Ronny Reagen`s hometown and Denny Hastert district has been running bold type headlines and half page articles on the war this week. inside the paper there are more articles. several days ago they ran a 5x7 picture of a Iraqi dad comforting his little boy...
edit- spell check????
