Hot off the press--New Newsweek poll Kerry leads 50-43, get your copy now

Read and weep.

After weeks of increasingly violent news from Iraq, presumptive Democratic nominee Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts now leads the president in a two-way trial heat by seven points (50 percent to 43 percent), according to the latest NEWSWEEK poll.

ARG Kerry 48-43
CNN/Gallup/USAT Likely voters Bush 48-45, Registered voters Kerry 48-46
Newsweek-Kerry 50-43

Once again Gallup is the outlier.

1. Need to respond to the poll on the page. Cool thing is that
nationally 52% thought that Contradicta's testimony made it less likely to think that the * admin did all it could to prevent the 9/11 attacks.

That was not the web poll.

3. Actually I smell the Republicans throwing some of their millions
at Nader.

At this point, there is no easy answer for the mess in Iraq. We Dems will be very divided as to the best solution.

Nader will gain the votes of those who want to vent their anger at the mess. That will be a lot of votes.

I feel that way myself, but I am too rational to throw up my hands and let Bush keep making more messes.

I will support Kerry because he will do his best to clean up the mess in Iraq and certainly will not start the new messes that Bush will.

Now that we got word of critical warnings and he did not pass ihem on to us Joe Public guys, he and Rice deserve the RAQ.

I just can't believe they were warned and did nothing to pass it on to us Small Guys.

8. The CNN whores quoted only the CNN/ Gallop poll
that showed * leading Kerry among LIKELY voters. They didn't even mention their own poll numbers of REGISTERED voters, or the Newsweek poll.

9. Good news!
Not surprised...the CNN question probably is something like: If you were forced to watch Candy Crowley weep and stutter for four years and Wolfie sob uncontrollably, and Daryn have to buy new C batteries every day or two, if Bush loses, whom would you be more likely to vote for? , traitorous Kerry, or our esteemed leader and wartime President, George W. Bush?

10. Not uninteresting...
if you believe their numbers, and Kerry isn't campaigning, he's just the beneficiary of Bush's collapse. That's great news since a re-election is almost always a referendum on the incumbent. Kerry was wise to sit back and watch and wait - I forget who originally said this but it's much better to allow an opponent to shoot himself in the foot all by himself - no assistance required.

those of us who were around during Watergate recall that just when things seemed bleak, and it looked as though Nixon was gonna beat it, something else came out. In college at the time, we had a theory htat the CIA was undermining him and sequentially leaking damning stories. Woodward is back in the thick of it, and you just don't want to PO the CIA - that Plame business may have trumped Bush family connections. We'll see. Meanwhile - it's gonna be some ride this Spring and Summer.

Recall in the film "Diner", when they see the wealthy young lady on the horse, riding in the pasture, one says to the other, (paraphrase) "There's a lot going on that we don't know anything about."

12. Don't know
In 2000 they had wacky numbers everyday, but in the end in there last poll with a huge sample they were close. I think there problem is there sample size and formula.
