Is a call for impeachment prohibited by the Constitution if... |
|

the President's party controls Congress 6 months before the election, even if there is overwhelming evidence of treason, high crimes and misdemeanors?
I don't think so.
On the contrary. Treason has no calendar.

3. if not prohibited. . . |

then it's most unlikely when his party controls the media, and the judicial and the legislative branches of government. To say nothing of the voting machines. Arghhhhh.

4. I don't think that clause |
|
anticipated a 2-party system with party loyalty exceeding personal ethics and the best interests of constituant citizens.
It probably also didn't anticipate 50% of executive documents getting classified and a President stonewalling congress regarding his justifications for going to war.
"President" Cheney scares me even if it's only for 9 months

6. I have one serious doubt about impeachment now. |
|
My doubt is that its not possible right now. I am all for kicking *'s butt out as hard, as fast and as far as possible but..... You have a Republican controlled house and senate and they wont allow such a motion to even be voted on. There is really not enough time to mount such a campaign and spend all that money when Shrub will be voted out anyway. And besides, screwing up a war we shouldn't have started in the first pBut November is not far off.

7. If, in the name of politics... |
|
The House shirks its constitutional responsibilities in the face of damning evidence, then history will be its judge. It will be considered the most tainted, most corrupt(as a body and leadership) legislative body in the history of the nation.
That may matter to a lot of them.

8. I chuckle when I hear all the referals to "spineless Democrats", |
|
when the true cowards are the moderate Republicans who won't stand up to the extreme RW of their party. They are simply rubber stamping whatever outrageous anti-American legislation is proposed by this administration. None of them have the guts to stand against their party and do what's right for the country.
