Holding Kerry's feet to the fire
Just spoke with members of military families speak out, and Im finding out that Kerrys office, when they went in there to speak with his staff about Kerry's vote for the war, told military families speak out (www.mfso.org) "Sen Kerry will not waver on his vote"
this was before the war when this happened.
Its time to hold Kerry's feet to the fire in more ways then one..demand he state quite openly that this war was a fraud, based on lies, and come clean with the US public that his vote was wrong.
There are too many Dean and Kucinich supporters out there , he cant ignore them.
Military families speak out will be holding a fast, and soon a hunger strike, to get our kids home.
Ill be part of it.
In the meantime, we cannot sit on our laurels and let Kerry continue the madness in Iraq when he gets in...we have to keep his feet to the fire..he made a mistake, he allowed his vote to send our kids off to war, and he knows it was an embarassing mistake.
Now its time to call him on it, and demand he start coming forward with solutions and answerable accountability for his vote.
It was politics, and poll numbers that led many of the Dems to go along with this shite and these lies.
now its time to hold them all accountable for going along with the lies and to step up to the plate, repugs and dems.

1. You're right about Kerry admitting he was wrong!
I think you're so right that the best thing to do is admit being wrong and apologize for the mistake he made....People are forgiving, and will accept that, and then he can go on with a clean slate to end the madness in Iraq....As long as he clings to "I did the right thing at the time" he is handcuffed....I think if he (or any Democrat for that matter) was president, you would find the international community willing to join in to help clean up the mess.....IMO
By the way....I pray your son is O.K....

2. You are so right...
Just got of the phone with Tinoire and a long conversation about Kerry. Honestly, he was my first choice when it was first announced he'd run, but the more I find out about him the less happy I am. I still intend on voting against Bush, but I think that we STILL have to be as vigilante as we've been the past three+ years and not just make assumptions about how a candidate is going to be just because they have a D after their name.

Kerry's IWR vote was a MAJOR disappointment for me, and his political acting about his vote (he was mislead/they were given assurances - bullshit) since makes it doubly nauseating. He's so paranoid about not appearing "weak" on foreigh policy/terrorism he is unable/unwilling to speak out as forcefully as he needs to right now. And damn him for that.

We DO need to hold his feet to the fire -- on this issue and every other one.
