Is there a puke response as to why Asscroft quit flying commerical?
And why he didn't ask any questions about the threat?

6. And how NOTHING is EVER
their fault! And did you notice how they never apologize if they're wrong, either, like how they made up the story of Clinton's staff trashing the WH just before the transition and when it was found not to be true the mainstream press and the Shrubbies totally ignored it.

5. Haven't heard a legit reply yet.
Will any of the 9/11 Commission Democrats have the guts to ask him? I think the whole country would love to know exactly what the nature of that "threat" was.

7. They usually say that Ashcroft had received threats on his own life...
Edited on Mon Apr-12-04 06:52 PM by VolcanoJen
... and that's why he stopped flying commercial. Nothing to do with upcoming terrorist hijacking plots.

That's the response I've seen all around the web, and my conservative friends parrot it too. I've never seen a single drop of evidence to confirm their assertions.

I'm sure it's a question which will be asked of Ashcroft tomorrow. I can't wait.

11. the oddest thing is he says he didn't ask about the nature of the threat
even if, assuming, it was just a threat on his life, I doubt it, but even if, wouldn't a sane person especially one in charge of the Justice Dept. want to know about this person(s) with obvious big-time murderous intent? Of course they would. Assboy is either lying or is an incompetent moron, take your pick.

10. Personal threats
That's what Ashcroft has been saying lately. It was originally attributed to a "threat assessment" by the FBI.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,52982,00.html

Attorney General John Ashcroft was urged in May 2001 by his top security experts not to fly aboard commercial aircraft because of personal threats on his life, not out of fears about terrorist hijackings, the Justice Department said Thursday.

That very same question from July 26, 2001. It was aired on CBS evening news tonight. His answer was "I don't know"! Go CBS!!!
