Did anyone catch this line from * last night. |
|
"I plan on telling the American people that I've got a plan to win the war on terror. "
The mind boggles.

1. There was also a line where he said if the generals ask for more troops, |
|
they will get them.:scared::scared:
(Almost verbatim, but * referred to a specific general; don't remember his name)
This is as close to an admission of draft plans as we are going to get, folks. We need to force this issue.

5. And when does he plan on telling us that he has a plan because |
|
judging by his statement he's still working on telling us when he plans to tell us that he has a plan.

2. Hey, it worked for Nixon in 1972! |
|
He said he had a plan to get us out of Viet Nam. He didn't tell us what it was, and it turned out he had no such thing.
But we elected him believing he did.

4. Is he going to hold on to this plan until after the election? |
|
The press conference would have been a great place to tell the American people this plan. The mind wobbles.

6. "I wouldn't want to be occupied either. . ." |
|
what. . .by a soul or a conscience. . .?
But seriously, if memory serves, that was the first time he rightfully referred to his so called "liberation" as an occupation.
Well most Americans have loathed living under his occupation.
If we don't have major obfuscation from the BBV's it may be over in the not too distant future.

10. Maybe someone should tell him to implement it |
|
after all, his excuses for inaction before 9/11 boil down to "no one told me to do anything", and he decided to invade Iraq the moment Wolfowitz told him to. He's just waiting for someone to say:
"Hey, Your Imperial Majesty, you ought to not just tell people that you're going to tell them about a plan in the future - you ought to tell them now! And then - this'll sound crazy, I know, but since you're President and all, you might even be able to tell some people to put it into action! Maybe they'll listen to you - I know you think everything around here runs without you, and up until now it has, but desperate times call for desperate measures, Sir (oops - Oh Great One, I mean) - it's time for you to make your first decision! Just please don't tell me your plan consists of stuffing a sock down your trousers and singing 'Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead' in front of a banner saying 'Merry Christmas, War Is Over'".
The trouble is that I can't think of anyone that Bush defers to that would possibly want the end of the War on Terror - Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Wolfowitz, Ashcroft all benefit from it too much. Maybe Laura? Or Barney?

7. Here's a few more of his "proud moments" from last night: |
|
Edited on Wed Apr-14-04 07:34 PM by 2004 Victory
“I don't plan on losing my job. I plan on telling the American people that I've got a plan”
“One of my hardest parts of my job is to console the family members, who've lost their life”
“Let me put that quote to Woodward in context, because he had asked me if I was -- something about killing bin Laden. That's what the question was.”
“And the other thing I look back on and realize is that we weren't on a war footing. The country was not on a war footing, and yet the enemy was at war with us. And it didn't take me long to put us on a war footing, And we've been on a war ever since.”
“People are sacrificing their lives in Iraq from different countries. We ought to honor that, and we ought to welcome that.”
“…And it dawned on me that, had we blown the peace in World War II, that perhaps this conversation would not have been taking place.”
“Because it's a good chance for both of us to answer questions that the 9/11 Commission is looking forward to asking us. And I'm looking forward to answering them.”
“Look, nobody likes to see dead people on their television screens.”
And don't forget ..."Secretary of State Rumsfeld."

I don't think I heard him say democracy, once. Used to be, every time he talked about Iraq he said he was gonna bring democracy on it. <sic>
Welcome to DU V2004, & thanks for the quotes.
