What Will Be the Most Powerful Motivator at the Polls: Like/Dislike??? |
|
We saw a great surge of voters participating in a primary election because Democrats are mad as hell. There is a fury out there that is more than the usual having a bias towards a particular party. On the other hand Bush supporters do not seem to be on the crusade they were on in the past. The core Christian right will be told to march to the polls; but it's the others that I wonder about. I predict that if Kerry and all the big Dems do a massive blitz on this nation starting about mid-September on to keep those flames alive in the Democrats, they will set records at the polls. I predict that a chunk of Bush/Republican voters will not run out and vote for Kerry, but will not be inspired to get to the polls either and will simply fail to vote. The key is to take that passion of the primaries and ignite it like a donkey with a stick of dynamite up it's ass come this Fall (we need all known Dems pounding this nation together and cannot get into divas who either don't want certain people out campaigning or divas who won't campaign because they can't run the party). I believe 'dislike' is going to be the motivator of the majority in November '04.

3. I believe you're right. The "dislike" factor will weigh heavily on Demos, |
|
as a great majority of them (myself included) have a plethora of 'dislike' for Chimpy (actually I despise the son of a bitch)...that been said, I'm not a huge Kerry fan, not to the point of blatent 'dislike', but as it so often is, the choice is the (far) lesser of the two uh, 'evils' as it were. It would be difficult for me to come up with the name of more than 2 or 3 people on the planet that I'd consider worse than Shrub.

4. dislike, no question.. |
|
Every person that voted against chimpy in 2000 will want to do so again to strike a blow.
Plus, the people who would traditionally vote for him are uneasy... deficits, lies about WMD's, outsourcing, Patriot Act, jobs, etc... all these things will make Chimpy's base uneasy and unmotivated, and righfully so.
A good person knows when they've been had.

...but seeing as most of us are rather fond of donkeys, I'd prefer not to shove sticks of dynamite up anyone's ass.
