3. Two items this column assiduously avoids.... |

First, that government deficits are eating up available capital, and that prompts a natural increase in inflation.
Second, that Greenspin will not raise interest rates noticeably until the November election results are determined--past history under Greenspin indicates that interest rates rise when Democratic presidents are in control, and drop when there are Republicans in the White House.
If Kerry wins in November, count on fairly rapidly rising rates in December.
