Daily Record: Ladies & Gentlemen, The Embarrassment Of The United States
Glasgow Daily Record
By Pippa Crerar

His keynote address to the American people, watched live by millions around the world, saw the president at his cringe-making worst.

In the glare of the TV cameras, he grimaced, sighed, rambled and even chuckled under his breath, before saying he could not think of a mistake he had made since the September 11 attacks.

American pundits were far from impressed by the performance of their leader, who has control of America's nuclear weapons at his fingertips.

One website even went so far as to ask if Bush was drunk.

It said his stuttering and loss of coherence gave the impression that the president, a recovering alcoholic, had fallen off the wagon.

1. Bush wasn't the only one drunk throughout that speech

4. British are 'too soft' in confronting dissent??? Yeah, we just want to
kill all the brown-skinned people so they know real democracy.

quote from the article:

The denial came after former senior Pentagon official Michael Rubin said British officials had little interest in pursuing the White House vision of a democratic Iraq. And he claimed they were 'too soft' in confronting dissent.
