Bush "The Derranged Cardinal" |
|
There's a cardinal in my backyard who for months on end has flown into my window, fallen to the ground, gotten up and kept at it for hours on end, and then comes back the next day and does the same all over again. I could say that my cardinal is "staying the course" and has resolve and sticks to his decision. Or, I could say that my cardinal is a brain damaged moron who can't get the hang of 'being a bird' down correctly and that every time he bangs into the window he inflicts more brain damage on himself and thus is at a point where he will never be able to figure out a window from real air space!! I've named my bird "Georgie"---somehow it just seemed the right thing to do........(there's 'resolve' and then there is just too inept to analyze situations and do what is necessary to correct stupid decisions).

1. The cardinal sees his reflection and thinks it's a rival. |
|
Put some paper over the outside of the window. He'll stop seeing his reflection and the attacks will stop.
Window glass wasn't around when birds evolved. It causes a lot of problems for our winged friends.
I wish Chimpy's problems could be solved so easily!

4. Honey, he even does it when the drapes are pulled--I wake up in |
|
the morning to thud, thud, thud. However, I must point out that it's the male cardinal doing it....the females sit in the tree and kind of have that "do you believe this dumbass" look on their faces.

5. Bird's Vision and our Visions are NOT the Same. |
|
Thus it is possible that the Cardinal is seeing his shadow even when you can NOT see yours in the glass. You need to put something on the OUTSIDE of the glass to stop the Cardinal from attacking the Glass. Just pulling the Drapes will NOT do it, it fact pulling the Drapes may make the picture CLEARER to the Cardinal. Put something to block the glass FROM THE OUTSIDE.
