Anybody who considers themselves a true Christian should denounce LaHaye. |
|
I watched the segment on 60 minutes II tonight about this. All I have to say is that these types of people are the reason that I quit going to church. Not only are they making Christianity a religion of hate but it all seems to be a marketing scheme. I mean, who would ever, in their right mind make comic books about the Book of Revalations? It makes me angry that this guy outright feels that he has the right to judge others and that Jesus is a judgmental prick. That is what LaHaye's beliefs amount too. They think that they can motivate people to Christianity through fear. Well, Mr. LaHaye, you never got me through fear, but you lost me through fear. It was interesting that people seem to buy into these people as though they were God or Jesus and follow them so blindly while they preach their brand of hate while Bush practically promotes them. It makes me sick.

I am a Christian. There bible warned us of this rise in false X-tianity. Go read Matthew 24! The Church is not a building. And it SURE as hell isn't what we are seeing in this country today. And it SURE is hell has nothing to do with La Haye! BHN

4. I actually enjoy the "Left Behind" book series. |
|
It's how I pictured the events of the end-times.
As a true Christian, we're not supposed to judge others, as I see here.

8. Testing and Judging are two different things- |
|
The means for testing whether a spirit is in Christ or not, is very clear and taught by Jesus to his followers as a way to "test" whether a person is a false teacher. La Haye is, by Jesus' measuring stick, not mine, a deceiver, a false teacher. That is not a judgement, that is a gift from Christ to His church. BHN

7. It is fiction. Accept it! |
|
Pure-T fiction. Not nearly as good, or (in the case of "Light in August") as illuminating with respect to religion as some of the old masters (Faulkner, z.b.).
