if we 'outsource' the war to iraqis - cheaper than kbr - do we win? |
|

1. We should outsource it to the Iraqi insurgents |
|
We're guaranteed to win that way.

2. Ahhhh... Shades of Catch-22 |

I can see it now, Bremer proudly announcing the cessation of American military casualties as American Amalgamated Corp. takes over, and hires 150,000 out-of-work Iraqis to stand in as the 'coalition' forces.
Unfortunately, the Iraqis might see it as their duty to perform as well as possible, and kill each other off. In order to prevent this, Bremer offers up the chance to the Iraqi opposition of hiring out-of-work American dot-com workers to stand in for them!
Hordes of workers whose unemployment benefits have expired flood the Sunni Triangle, and fight like reservoir dogs against the stand-in 'coalition' forces who are now trying to suppress the 'Iraqis' resisting the U.S.-led occupation.
Soon all the sneeches can no longer tell who have stars on their bellies, and who have not. The whole region benefits from the swirling of nationalities, languages, and cultures and embarks on a thousand-year revival of peace and harmony.
Sigh... only in fiction.

Sadly, we might have had some chance in Iraq if we had just hired Iraqis instead of American corporations to rebuild Iraq. Too late now.
