6. They talked about it during "Majority Report"
Someone who understood legal-ese explained that they paid Liu for airtime in Los Angeles and Chicago for two months before they went on the air. They stopped payment on their most recent check for $1 million when they found out that Liu had resold their airtime in LA, ie. got paid for the same airtime twice. Not unlike you paying for an apartment that you just have to have, but that you won't be moving into for 2 months. The landlord says, "Sorry, I can't hold it for you. You have to start paying rent now." then proceeds to rent it to someone else for the 2 months he knows you aren't going to be there. That's not legal.

Furthermore, they said that Chicago isn't an issue. They are totally paid up for that air time per the terms of their agreement with Liu, so he doesn't have ANY legal reason to take them off the air in Chicago. The resold airtime in LA isn't really legal either, but that's where they will have to prove their case. It just so happens they found out that Liu is a big supporter of the GOP.

3. How can a station that gives one sided views, if thats what it does,
make it as a Dem site? I never met a Dem that wanted his own views all the time. Dem have always seemed to me to be a party that have a wide range of views and likes that whole mess. GOP or the ones that hear Rush all seem to be lined up in a line of what they believe. They are a much better group of people who are told what to believe and do. Rush, President, churches tell them and they go a long with it. The old Party people were not like that but the new party seems to be for some reason. Take this site. It is all over the place. Take any Rep site and if any one does not go the line he is put off and it is hard to find any one who is even a little off the party line. Congress is the same. Liberal radio I never figured would work.

4. what are you talking about??
This site is for progressives and dems. so is Air America. DU appears to be pretty damn successful for a site that does not entertain right wing b.s. There is an audience!

7. The situation is being handled legally.
Their radio hosts took their money, and because of a dispute that was not over money, they shut them down.

Here is the lawsuit.

Unlike what Sludge says, they are paid in full.

It is the radio hosting company that is in breach of contract, not Air America Radio.

9. Nice alarmist title - Air America is doing fine thank you very much
I am listening on my radio in NYC and you can stream it on the computer - they were just talking with the guy filing the injunction - and making it sound fun too. Now, a lyrical profile of Tom Delay. It will be resolved, damages paid back - and the publicity will not hurt us either. Thread titlkes like yours might but won't.
