How can we put 9/11 probe focus on Bush NOT minimizing 9/11 tragedy? |
|
Okay... so the fbi, the doj, the cia, the nsa, the faa, and ins have all lined up to PROVE: There was nothing we could have done/known to prevent 9/11.
(nevermind all the whistleblowers proving the focus was on the big prize: Iraq, and all else was put on hold; nevermind that all the accusations that al queda and 9/11 are really Clinton's fault, and the Clinton people aren't really fighting back that falsehood, imo).
Fact is: even with facts and memos and perjury being committed, the American people seem to still conclude, "well, we just don't know."
Fine.
Okay, I think we should focus SOLELY on what happened on 9/11. If America cannot fathom an lihop or an mihop. Fine.
WE SHOULD DO EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER TO SHOW THE INEPTITUDE OF OUR COMMANDER IN CHIEF ON 9/11. Just his actions and omissions that morning are enough to fill volumes.
Perhaps the most we can 'prove' to the people is that the CIC was inept in the middle of a national disaster and that realistically, no plane should have EVER made it into ANY building that day.
Just focus on the school visit and the lack of a shoot down order or any fighter jet scrambling.
Bush wants to parade himself around as the Great White Protector. Well, he failed. How do we get THAT into the public consciousness.
It just turns me green that the 9/11 comm is turning more and more in a whitewash. That bush and his evil crew are literally getting away with ineptitude, if not downright evil lihop, right before our eyes.
Just ranting a bit here. But seriously, we should put out to the people in a big way Protector Bush's blunders on that morning. Make that the focus.

When are they going to drag Delay and Frist in front of the commission and ask them: what impact do you think your attempts to prematurely bring down the Clinton administration had on 9/11 and the war in terrorism in general.
Do *you* think you owe anybody an apology?

in fact... we should make ourselves a list with the backup proof of every single rep/senator/public official who shifted the focus away from national security to persue petty political bull. Make petitions for each one, demanding an apology.... and push it till they cry (or better yet, RESIGN).
They have no shame. Zero shame.
I made a mistake at work.... no one died. Fixing it didn't bankrupt the company. But I still feel really, really bad. Seems normal that one should feel bad -- and EXPRESS that regret -- whey they blow it bigtime, when they play even a small part in a disaster.
Not these guys in Washington. No shame. Curse them.

2. The DNC needs to air the film of Bush |
|
...at the Booker school, letting folks know when the first plane hit, showing him SITTING THERE after being told of the second. That video is chilling, and most people will get the point, not matter how hard the right wing blond bimbette squad works to spin it.
He didn't register shock. He didn't register surprise. He didn't excuse himself to go to the phone to get more details. He didn't excuse himself to do his job. HE SAT THERE. At the end he schmoozed with the kiddies as though he'd been told his fresh suit would be delayed 10 minutes from the cleaners.
Even if he's completely out of the command chain and his only function that day was to appear before the camers, he is the coldest, most callous SOB on the face of the planet. He didn't want to know.
HE SAT THERE.

4. But, will the DNC get all up in bush's business, ya think? |
|
I think not.
This illustration is going to have to come from us, I am afraid.
Maybe make a pitch to moveon to focus some on this?
HE SAT THERE.
Heck, he is making a big deal out of: "you see, al queda was at war with us. WE were not on a war footing, you see. You see, we didn't know we were supposed to be at war. Now we do. And I am on the job."
Okay Bush boy, at what point did you realize we were 'at war'? 1 day after 9/11? around 6pm that night? Why not when FOUR PLANES were hijacked? Not then? Okay, after ONE plane slammed into the WTC? Not then? After the 2nd one hit? Still not at war then yet, sir? Okay... after the pentagon was hit??? Not then... WHEN?
I can't believe we have EVIL leading this country right over the side.

9:03 a.m.: A second hijacked airliner, United Airlines Flight 175 from Boston, crashes into the south tower of the World Trade Center and explodes. Both buildings are burning.
+++
9:30 a.m.: President Bush, speaking in Sarasota, Florida, says the country has suffered an "apparent terrorist attack."
+++
9:43 a.m.: American Airlines Flight 77 crashes into the Pentagon, sending up a huge plume of smoke. Evacuation begins immediately.
+++
9:57 a.m.: Bush departs from Florida.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
+++ At 12:39 word is that Bush has landed at a base near Shreveport, La. Incredibly, at 12:51, there is footage of a Taliban news conference by one Wakil Ahmed Mutawakel. It is difficult to absorb that Arafat and the Taliban have weighed in before Bush. Five minutes later ABC reports that in Shreveport "the president looked grim. His eyes were somewhat red." The only hard information is that there are no national security people traveling with the president. ABC's Peter Jennings, breaking protocol for news anchors, says forcefully that the country needs words from its president in Washington.
+++
1:08: More than three hours after the second tower collapsed. A taped message from President Bush. But the sound isn't transmitting, and the image is jerky. Then the image goes backwards. Then it goes off.
2:35: Guiliani live again: "The number of casualties will be more than anyone can bear."
+++
3:30: Confirmation that Bush has landed at the Strategic Air Defense Command base near Omaha, Neb. ABC's Ann Compton, traveling with the president, is on the phone to Peter Jennings, whose inflection says it all: "Annie, can you hear me? What are you doing in Nebraska?"
When he asks where Bush is, she replies, "He disappeared down the rabbit hole, Peter."
+++
3:48: For the first time an administration official, White House counsel Karen Hughes, gives a live statement: "The president, vice-president, and speaker of the House are all safe." It is astonishing that this late in the day the White House has nothing more to say.
+++
At 6:41, Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld gives a live press conference -- nearly nine hours after the towers collapsed, a cabinet-level official finally speaks.
+++
8:31: Nearly 12 hours after the attack began, 10 and a half after the towers collapsed, President George W. Bush reads a speech live from the Oval Office.
