The genius of Osama bin Laden - Plays the west like a violin
There is a lot to be said about the new tape from the Sheik in Chief.

But, what struck me as a Norwegian whose troops are to be withdrawn from Iraq June 30th is his 3 month window of opportunity.

This 3 month period just happens to end just after Norway along with a whole host of other countries are to be withdrawn anyhow.

If countries such as Norway and Spain follow their original plan, Osama is the winner.

If they do not, Al Qaeda has again directly engineered the foreing policies of many European nations.

Bush better get in line, because here we are talking about a master manipulator.

3. Dealing with terrorism true leaders must do what is right regardless
of what terrorists may think, or that we think they may think,
or that "it looks like the terrorists win".

The Iraq war was a criminal enterprise and no one should take a part
on that. Staying there is persisting on the error and continue the
crimes. The RIGHT thing to do is pulling out the troops if the US
persists in refusing the rest of the World a say in finding a solution
to the problem they created in the first place.

If the terrorists think they win, well let them!
Who cares what they think!

4. Bush needs to have a "Costanza Moment"

Agree with your post - they accurately predict our responses and actions ...and are able to see the "big picture."

BushCo seems to be seeing a smaller picture and ends up being outwitted.

Remember the "Seinfeld" where George decides to do the exact opposite of what his instincts tell him? By the end of the day, he is talking to beautiful women and working for the New York Yankees.

5. Not a Violin,
But a double bass. Just the right touch to tickle or stab the beast and make it roar, sing, or groan to his tune, with a thundering bravado included.

6. Osama bin Laden is crazier than Bush
Bin Laden's tactics have never made any sense at all. They have nothing to do with his objectives, whatever they may be. Why, for example, did he think he could drive American bases out of Saudi Arabia by attacking the U.S.? Does he really think the Europeans are so alienated from the U.S by the war in Iraq that they would make a pact with a devil as vile as himself? The only thing Osama bin Laden has going for him is that his adversary, the American president, is as fanatical and unthinking as he is. What keeps Osama going is that Bush has played right into his maniacal call for a religious crusade.

9. Bring it On...
Why, for example, did he think he could drive American bases out of Saudi Arabia by attacking the U.S.?

I think OBL was saying - "Bring it on"

He saw the SA bases as slow, incrememtal attack...He stood a better chance of winning by baiting us into Iraq...

7. I think that most of the foreign powers in Iraq will use the symbolic
transfer date as policitical cover to remove their troops. Most are receiving amazing pressure at home to do get out anyway. Bush has made it very easy for them to achieved this goal since he can't change the date for a hand off because it will mean he made a mistake.

8. Bush is a fool
Bush better get in line, because here we are talking about a master manipulator.

Gives lie to the Chimp's assertion that Al Qaeda is badly damaged also. I'm afraid that for every leader they've captured or killed, ten more are enlisting and ready to go.
