Read this if you doubt our media's complicity

If Gore had made this statement, you wouldn't be able to throw a stick without hitting an op-ed claiming exaggeration and lying was further proved the hallmark of Gore.

Now Bush has lied/exaggerated everything from the threat in Africa to the SS fund to the cost of his Medicare program. Hell, he even lied about what he saw on 9/11. Where are the op-eds painting him as a serial liar? You won't find any, but you will find many that claim he is 'seen as a plainspoken, honest guy' without qualification, without a hint of the context and the facts.

Bush Makes Three Mistakes While Trying to Cite One
By REUTERS

Published: April 15, 2004

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - <snip>Bush, long known for his grammatical conundrums and confusing phraseology, told reporters twice during Tuesday's prime-time news conference that 50 tons of mustard gas were discovered at a turkey farm in Libya..."They could still be there. They could be hidden, like the 50 tons of mustard gas in a turkey farm," said Bush, referring to Libya's voluntary disclosure of weapons in March.

The next day, the White House said the accurate figure for the Libyan mustard gas was 23.6 metric tons, or 26 short tons, not 50 tons.

Moreover, the substance was found at different locations across Libya, not at a turkey farm. And observers did not find mustard gas on the farm at all, but rather unfilled chemical munitions, the White House acknowledged.

"The president misspoke and we just want to correct the record," explained White House spokesman Scott McClellan.

1. if there was anything more sickening than Bush's performance..
it was the way the cable whores followed it up, with heaps of praise for his 'resolve, firmness' etc, and how he spoke from the heart, etc.

they are equally responsible, and they should have a space reserved at the gallows along with the traitors in DC :grr:

3. was it the same turkey farm where Halliburton got the photo-op turkey?
Why are the press, and even Democratic politicians, afraid to call Bush a liar? Here, I'll help you out.

Bush is a LIAR, LIAR, LIAR, LIAR, LIAR!

5. what's the difference?
50 tons of mustard gas at a single location (a turkey farm) vs. 26 tons of unfilled chemical munitions spread across multiple locations, none of which were turkey farms?

sounds the same to me. </sarcasm>

hmmm, maybe he tipped his hand and revealed where saddam's wmd are going to be 'discovered'?

6. Facts? We don't need no steenking facts!

(Yes, I do know how to spell "stinking.")

This (mis)Administration doesn't really care about facts. Witness the anti-Kerry ads on TV. No mother-loving Freeper is actually going to check the veracity of Bush's statements.

7. Journalism is a gutter profession
in America now. The 21'st century equivalent of the 'used car salesman' of the last half of the 20'th century, except that these people do far more damage to far more people over a much longer timespan.
