File this under: Phrases I'll never get used to.

:wtf:

And what was with that segment on the Crawford ranch and Larua Bush's environmental expertise on Morning Edition today?!! Did anyone catch it? What kind of corporate pap is this?? I hadn't listened much recently especially with AA going on air. What's with the corporate mouthpiece-nature of NPR?

I think I'll pass, thank ya very much, but do pass some of the AA.

2. The Wal-mart thing bothers me too.
I know they're desperate for funds, but sheesh!

3. I was stunned by the Laura Bush*
piece. Amazing. She totally has no concept of her role in the destruction of her countryside. She, who has benefited from oil revenues her entire life. She, who is married to the worst friend the environment has known now wants to clean up her special little areas. And, she worries about Odessa. Isn't that sweet?

It's amazing to listen to her sometimes and marvel at just how clueless she really is. The tone of her voice and the way she talks sounds like she could be drugged. It totally creeps me out. :scared:

5. This hour of NPR brought to you by Fox
I wish I was kidding but Fox is a major contributor to our local NPR outlet.

6. Earth to hiphopnation:
American public broadcasting isn't public. It a set of charities that depend on corporate donors and lobbyists.
