5. What Is The Point Then?
Online polls are stupid enough anyhow...I think they should lock this post. I feel like it's "baiting."

7. it's being freeped as we speak
And if you go over to freeper land you will see comments like "clear those cookies and vote again" in many of their threads about polls.

this is why internet poll should never be trusted, but people trust them for some reason. And it's true that politics is perception.

13. Exactly
Stuffing online polls may be juvenille and stupid, but these polls, despite their lack of any statistical meaning, are often shown on TV and remarked upon by the talking heads (or otherwise viewed by people when the poll isn't associated with an MSNBC or CNN show or what have you). Even with the "This post is not scientific..." disclaimer a remark like "Gee, it seems like there's a lot of Bush supporters voting..." is enough to implant a Pro-Bush meme or otherwise shape the way casual observers view things.

So yeah, freeping and defreeping is pointless in theory, since these polls mean squat on a scientific basis, but the fact remains a lot of people give them at least some credence, and controlling (or just keeping the freepers from controlling) the results of them allows us to shape the discourse in a positive sense towards democratic candidates/ideas.

18. I agree with you...
... just registering my disgust with polls. I still take part in defreeping, those people over ride my disgust with polls in a NY minute.

at the site. Including one who rails against "Bob Kerry." I hope that was intended as a joke.

16. Sorry for the fuss...
I just thought I would show the Irony of an obviously Bush spammed poll, that couldn't get an accurate total, and also happened to be in Florida.

I didn't mean to stoop to Limbaugh's legion's level.

Sorry for the poor spelling too.. got a 1 year old on my lap coloring.

Look at me George...... I'm apologizing!!!

19. Hi Finbar! Welcome to DU
I know the impulse is tempting, but, well,...it's just not the right thing to do. We don't intend to appear all stiff necked about it. We're just trying to be the adults, since the other side can't seem to figure out how. :D

17. What sense does it make to skew polls?
If you come across a poll , vote once. Don't cheat. We are Democrats not Republicans. Vote fraud is Republican/conservative tactic.

20. If you skew it
so much and obviously, then they might notice and make it
harder to skew.

But yeah, probably better to see if it allows you to vote twice and then contact them to let them know how unreliable their numbers must be if they have no mechanism to discourage multi-voting.

25%
They will find some sort of evidence and we will take military action. (40 votes)

13%
They will find some sort of evidence but we will not take military action. (22 votes)

12%
They will not find any evidence of weapons at all. (20 votes)

7%
They will find convincing evidence of weapons but we will not take military action. (12 votes)
