College Republicans: Masters of the Obvious
Edited on Thu Apr-15-04 01:50 PM by Homer12
I had it out with a college Republican on campus today. They had a Bush/Cheney table.

For most of the conversation all he replied with was talking points, even when I pushed on the 9/11 blame game of government incompetence, when I said not only does the Clinton Administration share some Blame but Bush Administration does as well, he tried to deflect it and just go to the OSAMA BIN LADEN deflection.

I stood there for a second and said , OF COURSE it was Bin Laden, but I was talking about government incompetence that led to Al-Quadia success.

College Republicans mastering the obvious yet again.

I brought up the PNAC up, he never heard of it and then I gave him a short history about Iraq. He goes back to freedom for Iraqi people deflection, I say I hope it works.

I then I bring up the theory of the "Catastrophic Unifying Event" and ask him if he's Heard of it. He said yes, and then I replied Pearl Harbor and 9/11 were two.

I then explain that if he looks into the PNAC documents he will find that they called for this to happen to solidify support for their agenda. Immediately he gets a sour look and asks if I think BUSCHO made it happen.
I said no, but it's one HELL of a coincidence that on their watch we get a unifying event and the PNAC policies and agenda get used and is in full swing.

The conversation ends I say I'm a "Proud Liberal" and I tell him the the right-wing and conservatives have their heads in the sand (or up their assess) when it comes to the Bush Administration, that they are being used and exploited.

I told him that most Americans think that it (undemocratic government take-overs) can't happen here, I warned him that they (the right) better wake up before it's to late.

1. Clinton Note
Discussed Monica Lewinsky for a second and Clinton's Iraq policy said CLinton should have finished it with Saddam, but it would have looked like a "Wag the Dog" senario.

I said CLinton lied to us, but he said it didn't matter to much becuase it was Clinton's personal life.

Mastering the obvious yet again.

5. A hint about Clinton

Whenever a conservative mentions Clinton say "Ah, the ABC's of Republicanism....Always Blame Clinton"

It always pisses them off.

Another thing: Never argue with them unless you have an audience. Your never going to convince them of anything. The only reason to argue with them in public is to embarrass them in front of others.

2. It sounds like you did some good work.
I guess the Republicans don't discuss PNAC. I wonder why. And this kid must not read the news, just right wing propaganda. It brings to mind Jack Nicholson's line about the truth. They can't handle the truth. I'm hoping some of them can,...eventually.

6. and if that doesn't work, tell them that they'd better prepare
to pack their essential shit in one bag, 'cause they're gonna get drafted and sent to Iraq - with few, if any, exceptions.

7. Well done. You might as well try arguing a Nazi on The Jewish Question
Same kind of person, same Pravda. Same Totalitarian Bootlicking Persona. Same woreship of Volk, Vuhrer*, and Vaterland.
