so...what good is this guy?
He's like the Robin Quivers for Randi. Just an ego stroker that titters in the background.

improved with the guy there. If she doesn't go off on tirades, she just sits and yells and screams. Her "sidekick" softens her and helps to balance her show between the serious topics and the lighter tirades.
In my most humble opinion, of course.

He kind of represents "the audience" for us, interacting with and reacting to Randi. Also, when Randi makes a joke, it is much more entertaining to hear someone laugh; at least that way the listener is sure it was meant to be funny.

i agree. i think it was odd when there was nobody in the room with Randy. the Silences were strange and it sometimes felt like she was talking to herself. This guy doesn't have much to say, but i guess she likes it like that. maybe a laugh-track would have been just as good.

When you have a 4 hours show, I think having a sidekick is useful/ At least she can go smoke.

He's the guy who got shot up by rubber bullets at the WTO riots in Miami - because they told him to move, but not where to move to.
He was the show producer at 'JNO.

It's a pretty standard industry format for a talk show.
So one is forced to ask why Randi is to blame in your mind for such a standard industry practice?

This is now like the 5th day you've spent complaining about Randi. At this point, it's no longer you just expressing an opinion. It's glaringly obvious that this makes you very emotional. I've never seen anyone get so upset about a radio host being rude, with the exception of Howard Stern.

I don't need to hear some giggling teenager in the background.

I'm with you. At least with the other shows on AAR it's obviously an equal opportunity gab session.
With this Randi goes on a long (but entertaining) rant and Tom says "Uhh eh heh heh, yeah!"
