1. That's what I've been trying to find out. |
|
So far, all I know is that L.A. is apparently still off the air.

5. I will never give right-wingers the satisfaction of thinking.... |

there will be no liberal radio. First of all, there is always Sirius Left, with its hosts. Second of all, I will support Air America and listen to it on Sirius (it starts next week). We will never give up. I hear that Air America is going to Court to sue the owner of the L.A. station. That will take a long time. Air America said that it had to stop a check to him because he breached the contract allegedly.

It sounds like AAR has a strong legal position on the merits, but to obtain a TRO or preliminary injunction, you must show "irreparable harm." As a general rule, the law does not recognize lost profits as "irreparable" because the damaged party may recover monetary damages to remedy the harm. The actions by the radio station sound egregious, however, and I hope AAR is able to obtain a TRO.

7. I agree ... legal action in this case is probably a waste. |

They might be able to get some of their money back in the long run. Good luck, as you say, at getting the guy to put the shows back on. Fear not! Maybe more and more people will get satellite radio. It is getting more affordable ... and they probably will promote the heck out of their new addition! It's on XM! It will be on Sirius next week!

10. LA is a separate case |
|
They're pursuing other options - per Randi. So maybe another station?

They will be back on the air soon. Maybe by the morning.
Los Angeles is still up in the air at this point.
Randi Rhodes hinted that they (AAR) are looking at other options. Maybe another station???
I did notice on my way to work a BIG ASS billboard for Air America on the 101 freeway.
