2. You know what's scary about this?
The "left" in this case is totally anti-American, and the young people of that country think the USA is the biggest threat to their security, even bigger than North Korea.

Thanks a lot, Bush.

How in the world could we have alienated South Korea, for crying out loud?

That takes some talent.

3. They're correct..
and this one isn't really bush's fault, it's the fault of meddling US administrations who for decades have been playing with the korean economy, installing puppet dictators, encouraging a consumer economy, and generally treating the place like a colony. Now bush is playing axis of evil games with the north, per$uading the south to send soldiers to iraq (or we'll pull out), and that doesn't help, but there's a lot of history and a lot of reasons for the young to be angry with the US - and most of us here in the US aren't even aware of it. There are a long string, for example, of koreans being killed by american military vehicle crashes, or of US soldiers breaking local laws in various ways. I remember talking to a buddhist monk at a back country temple during the early 1970's, and he remarked that koreans felt a lot of sympathy for vietnam (another war koreans were forced to join by the US) because both countries were occupied by the US. We worked pretty hard to alienate south korea, and I honestly cannot blame them. I think they'll be much better off without us.
