I am afraid of what is coming when the NeoCons find out * is unsupportable |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-15-04 05:27 PM by EstimatedProphet
What I see coming is this: they will dunp *, but do everything in their power to keep all the neocon ideas in play. They'll say that attacking Iraq was a mistake because of how * handled it, but still try to pound in the idea that the US has the god-given right to attack anyone else at will. They'll say that *'s outsourcing of jobs was a mistake because of the way it was handled, not because it's a mistake period. They'll say that *'s economic policies were bad because of how they were carried out, but the ideas need to keep being tried. They'll say that the trashing of the Bill of Rights was bad because *' staff was too heavy-handed, but the ideas are sound for giving us "protection" from all the bad people. And the public will swallow that swill, because they'll have a figure to affix blame to, and the policies will stay in place.

1. How will they dump Chimpster? |
|
He won't go quietly. And who's going to tell Babs?
I'm sure that many in the Republican Party would love to dump Chimpy, but I don't see how it is possible.

6. Well, he won't be around forever |

If he loses this election (OhpleaseohpleaseohPLEASE!) the NeoCons won't pick him up for 2008. No way.

A "major figure" has been saying that for quite a while.

Because there's apparently a lot of them that haven't heard that.

3. Chimpy's the only reason they are in control |
|
without him as president, they'll have significant trouble advancing their agenda. People don't like Cheney and the other bastards as much as they like shrub.

4. True. Shrub's their front man. |
|
They can't blame Chimpy.
For a long time I figured they would dump Cheney, but the problem may have gotten too deep for that now. A couple months ago they could have dumped Cheney and blamed everything on him. Actually, I still think they will do this. I'm just not sure it will work.

5. The repubs are stuck with *Bush |

think of *Bush as a ball and chain around the republican party's neck, and they are getting thrown overboard.
Pleasant thoughts yes?

7. I hope you all are right |

But 5-10 years from now I have the feeling that they will have found another narcissistic twerp like * as their front man, and everyone will fall for it again. In other words, just getting rid of * isn't enough. We need to make clear that their ideology is bankrupt.

To change laws regarding corporate contributions to government for a start.
Do something with Rev Moon too.
There is a bunch of stuff to do to lock-out these nuts from ever getting control of the USA again.

14. How do we make it clear, when we follow their lead? |
|
You're right, and that's exactly why we need to delineate clearly, and choose candidates well.

11. I think they'll do a Nixon |
|
on Bush after the election (assuming they can cheat and win). I think Cheney wants to be President. Also Cheney is a PNACer. Bush may be but he did not sign the manifesto. But there are also problems. Cheney won't need Rove and he's a formidable opponent.
For Bush personally, I think he'd be best off just losing the election. After all, people loose elections all the time. There's no disgrace or stigma to it. Resigning in lieu of impeachment is bad.
If Kerry wins the wingnuts and PNAC'ers will try him on for size. He should probably extradite them to Iraq for trial....
One thing is for sure. Bush cannot solve this Iraq or Middle East situation. He can only make it worse.
