Did Anybody Else LOL AT Dick Clark's "Dramatic Revelation?"
...on Larry King? Ready??? Ready, he's coming forward with a fact that the promos say concerns his personal health and "may shock you."

Ready? Are you sitting down?

TYPE 2 DIABETES!

God! Who cares? Is this guy starving for attention and can't wait til New Year's 2005 or WHAT?

Hey not knocking diabetes but the promos for this were super dramatic. Don't a LOT of people in their 70's have that? Let's have my dad or some other more interesting person with Type 2 Diabetes on, less shocking but less BORING too. I'm sorry I never could stand that guy!

4. Just a minute, though...
::::God! Who cares? Is this guy starving for attention and can't wait til New Year's 2005 or WHAT?
::::

You know, it isn't necessarily Dick Clarke that had anything whatsoever to do with the promos, is it? I'm not watching LK, but, is that the whole focus of what he wants to talk about, or is it more that that's how CNN decided to pimp the show?

6. Unlike you, the truth about 9.11 is important to me and someone who risked
his life to put it out is worthy of my respect.
That larry King is trying to get audience with an irrelevant detail from his interview takes nothing from Clarke's heroism. Reveals you though.

7. Ummm...are we talking about the same Dick Clark?
...for disc jockey, TV new anchor in Philly, best known host of American Bandstand? You know, that Dick Clark...now, if he risked his life with regard to 9/11, I didn't know about it...but Dick Clark? New Years Eve in Times Square?

8. Dick Clark or Richard Clarke?
I assumed you meant Dick Clark the dance guy. Richard Clarke is not 74 yrs. old. I agree with you on the Type 2 Diabetes though. As a Type 1 for most of my life I have no sympathy with those who can't even handle Type 2.

10. I don't think that's the "Dick Clark" who was on Larry King last night.
Edited on Fri Apr-16-04 09:01 PM by NightTrain
Unless I miss my guess, the Dick Clark in question is the creator of "American Bandstand," the man who did much to emasculate rock 'n' roll in the late 1950s, thus making it more "acceptable" to suburban parents. :puke:

20. In 30 Years, And Will It Be "Shocking" When I Am??
What the hell is shocking about a 74 y/o having type 2 diabetes? I mean it's a DRAG but it's not a "shocking revelation." Like I said, I'm not dissing the disease but the way this was done on CNN was just tooooo corny!

Although i am a little sad, i thought for sure he was going to reveal that he had been drinking the blood of virgins to stay so "Young" looking. I guess he didnt bring his portrait of Dorian Grey either?

24. I love Larry's dramatic promos
One night it was, "Barbara Eden Breaks Her Silence About Her Son's Death!" (a suicide). I wasn't even aware he'd died, or that she'd been silent.

Larry also seems to miss the boat on the big story of the day. Many a night when the world was blowing up, I'd tune in to Larry to see Marie Osmond, Pat Boone, or a psychic no one ever heard of.

30. I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT!!
You know what I turned it off after the dramatic, shocking revelation was made....maybe he is doing that!!

I loved when Michael Moore was asking him about the tax breaks he was getting for hiring the welfare moms for slave wages and he was just like, NOOOOO COMMENT!! All that was kind of more shocking than the diabetes revelation!

31. I thought it had to do with 'appearance' in Bowling for Columbine
You know where 'welfare to work' had serious harm on an employee's family who worked for him.

I was hoping the real Dick Clarke was going to be on LK.
