Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, & nothing but the truth? |
|
Did not Rumsfeld and Tenet refrain from telling the whole truth when they were sworn before the committee? Can they legitimately say that "they were never asked" so they didn't volunteer any information? Even though when they were directly asked questions by the Committee about Iraq and meetings on Iraq, they did not volunteer to tell about George Jr's secret plans for Iraq. The chose not to tell the whole truth. Otherwise they would have volunteered that information when parallel questions were asked of them. They chose to remain silent. They are co-conspirators. They are accomplices in a criminal act. It is yet to be determined whether the criminal act is high crimes and/or misdemeanors. Misdemeanors can be an impeachable offense. Rummy and Tenet remained silent even though they knew the 'whole truth' was not being told...

1. Pretty hard to pin 'guilt by omission' |

on someone, and always has been.
There haven't been hard questions about Iraq from the commission because it's off topic, unfortunately.
