I just heard the Mayor of Dover on the BBC talking about Iraq..
along with some Dover citizens and mothers of Troops in Iraq.
The mothers were naturally concerned about their children and fearful for the safety, but each one, along with their friends and the Mayor all said every US citizen must be behind the President in his war on terrorism and each one linked Iraq back to 9/11 and the loss of so many lives then.

They all thought the troops dying were giving up their lives so they could be free...no mention of any innocent Iraqis who are dying or the children horribly wounded.

I often questioned how the German nation allowed the Nazis to rise to such power and claim they didn't know what was happening in the concentration camps..Now I know how easily it happened...and they were the days before mass media.

"We're changing the world".."staying the course" "we serve the course of liberty..historic mission" and other such banalities..one thing that people say about Germany in the 30's was how banal and office-like the SS were.

For a project I once interviewed a very old Olympian athlete who attended the Berlin Olympics in '36 and received his medal from Adolphe Hitler and when I asked him what his impression of him was he replied.."a very ordinary little man with bad skin and halitosis"

True evil really is banal.:evilfrown:

1. Yes, for the first time ever I've developed fellow-feeling for Germans.
I'm not comfy with it and wish it would go away. But George does that to people. He's a uniter not a divider, you know.

2. Well, ...we British
are certainly not averse to staging a propoganda exercise now and then. No doubt this guy's willingness to talk out of his arse in support of The Boy Tony and his moronic US master will be noted and rewarded at some point in the near future.
