Bush and Blair are like Felix and Oscar, the odd couple... |
|
They are dependent on each other. Blair is not very popular in Britain and Bush and America's support of him keeps his head above water. It lends a bit of credibility to his leadership in his home country. He hates the untidiness of Oscar...er..Bush, but he stays by his side out of political necessity.
As for Bush, Tony Blair is the only truly credible leader that went along with his blunder in Iraq. Without Blair, he would have the Polish leader and a few more minor countries...and we've all heard the Polish jokes. Bush needs Felix...er...Blair... to make him look like a credible leader amongst his followers here at home. Other than that, they have nothing in common.

Soon they'll be tip toeing through the tulips together, as if married, in front of the 911 commission.
