We lost it on the day that we "won" it. If the government lets you do any research, if you should be allowed to get into high school, look up some principles of warfare.

You will find that capturing a country is not really a big deal, especially if the country is unarmed. Keeping control of a country after you've captured it is quite another matter. If you don't send enough soldiers to actually occupy the conquered land, well, you're screwed.

What does 'screwed' mean, Daddy?

Well, 'screwed' is when you let a man that you didn't really elect tell you lies about why you need to get into a war that you can't get out of. That's why Emily's mom came home in that very small box.
